Digital photography has been a hobby of
mine since 2001. My first digital camera was a slim and pretty Canon PowerShot S110. It had a
2.1 megapixel CCD and a 2X optical zoom. There was even a movie mode with sound.
I loved that camera very much - I forgot how many lovely photos I took with it.
I switched to a more professional
digital camera in 2002 - via a 5 megapixel Sony DSC-F717. That was when I
began to experiment heavily
with digital photography accessories and photo editing software. I
also began to learn more about shooting quality photos and how to properly light
my subjects.
I currently own two digital
cameras. One is a 5 megapixel, 12X optical zoom Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20
for everyday shooting. The other camera is a wonderful 6 megapixel Nikon D70 for taking commercial quality pictures.
I never had any formal training in
photography. I just worked things out for myself using trial and error. Most of
the stuff I know have been picked up from the Internet and various product
manuals.
Digital photography is a very
rewarding hobby, but picking up the basics can be a challenging. However, don't
be afraid to learn, experiment and try out new techniques. Sooner or later, your
skills will develop and you'll be taking much better pictures.
